Autochk not found skipping autocheck

In winxp pro when booting up you may get a light blue screen saying.
systemroot\windows\system32\autochk.exe missing,and it continues to boot to the desktop,and you may not see any problems with windows.
Even if it is there in windows\system32\autochk.exe this error will come.

Here is the solution to this problem.

Go to start->run->regedit.

Then navigate to this keys and create dem if they are not there

    I was playing nights with the problem auf failing autocheck. You tiny reg-file completely cured the problem.

  2. Well the solution given is for those who are able to boot their PC but getting some error wile booting. But if its not booting at all then you can try repairing your XP using your XP cd

  3. When the computer is nit booting how do you expect us to do all these things? The only solution for thisis, I presume, reinstall windows and then do all these blah blah blah etc.,
