Ylmf OS – Ubuntu made to look like Windows XP

If you were avoiding Ubuntu just because you didn’t like its user interface then here is something for you. The Chinese pirates have found some new way to screw up the Redmond based company.

YLMF OS:- This is the operating system based on Ubuntu 9.10 and user interface almost identical to the one of Windows XP. The operating system comes preloaded with Wine, Compiz, SMplayer, Firefox and Pidgin.

You can see the original download site at ylmf.org. The site is in Chinese language but still you can translate it into English or any other language using Google translator.

To change the default language to English follow the steps given below.

  1. Download and extract the iso file of ylmf OS and replace the isolinux file with the default isolinux file from Cosmic Koala(The OG Ubuntu 9.10).
  2. Again make iso file out of it and install it on your computer. The installation process is same as you do for Ubuntu. After getting into the system run this command:
    sudo locale-gen en_US
