Windows 10 has a lot of pretty amazing features , however after upgrading to Windows 10 one of the issue that I faced was that the Power Button went missing from the TaskBar.
Before starting click here to know how to enable the missing power button.
If the Power button in personalization is completely grayed out then follow these steps:
1. Go to Device Manager.Press Win+X and select Device manager.
2. Expand the Batteries and you’ll see two options.
- Microsoft AC-Adapter
- Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery
Disable both the option and again Enable them
After Enabling Restart your Windows and check , the issue will get resolved .
So if you want to stop these websites from using your hardware here’s a step by step guide for different platforms:
1)Stop Websites From Mining via Desktops(or Laptops):
On Desktops you can stop it by adding the browser extensions. Pre-installed browsers on Mac(Safari) and Windows (Edge) do not have the add-ons feature as found in Chrome or Firefox. So start using Chrome or Firefox while browsing.
We need to add the No-Coin extension from Chrome or Firefox . Here’s a look of the extension on Chrome
Based on your preferred browser download No Coin for Chrome by clicking here and for Firefox by clicking here.
2) Stop Websites from Mining via Smartphones:
1.Open Chrome ,go to Settings by clicking on top right corner ,then under advanced go to Site settings where you’ll find the JavaScrips option.
Browser Extensions are not available for Chrome on mobile. However for Firefox the method remains the same as of desktop.
- Launch the “Settings” app and tap on “Safari”
- Exit Settings
- Quit and relaunch Safari for the change to take effect
Using your device’s processor with your consent is agreeable as websites need to generate different ways to earn revenue however secretly using your hardware is unethical. So to avoid being the victim follow the steps mentioned above.
If the battery icon does not appear on taskbar so to restore the problem go to Settings>Personalization
then click on Taskbar and in Notifications Area click on select which icons appear on taskbar
In the following window which appears turn the slider on for Power option
