As we have mentioned in the earlier post, the main feature of Firefox 19 is it’s built-in PDF viewer. But if you still prefer to use a third-party tool for this then you can easily turn off the built-in viewer.
If you wish to change the default PDF viewer, you can do it by going to Options -> Applications tab. There search for PDF and select the required option from the list.
Or else you can completely disable the built in PDF viewer by going to about:config. Type about:config in address bar and press enter. Click on I’ll be careful, I promise. In that page search for pdfjs.disabled. Set its value to true and you are done.
Even though the update process on Windows 8 is better than that of the earlier Windows operating systems, you might see the countdown timer to restart your computer for finishing the update process. Which leads to a forceful system restart. Well, you can save your self from this but not many people know how. Follow the steps given below if you don’t won’t to see that countdown again.
Go to start screen.
Type “regedit” and press enter.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \\ SOFTWARE \\ Policies \\ Microsoft \\ Windows \\ WindowsUpdate \\ AU.
There in the right side pane, right-click and select New -> DWORD (32-bit) value.
Rename the new value to NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers and set its value to 1.
In case you want to bring back the forced reboot you can always delete this DWORD value.
