Aerofoil is a tiny open source utility which allows the user to easily turn off aero glass effect in Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems and save the battery power. It automatically disables aero glass effect when laptop is not connected to the external power supply and brings everything back to normal when it is connected to external power supply.

Aerofoil extends Vista and Windows 7 notebook battery life by:

  • Allowing you to manually disable Aero Glass.
  • Optionally managing Aero Glass user interface.
  • Optionally managing sound muting.
  • Optionally managing your chosen power plans.
  • Optionally managing Windows Sidebar.

After the months of anxious waiting Microsoft has finally released the beta version of their latest internet browser. I personally never liked the browser but after reading few reviews of it and hearing from my friends I decided to have a look at it myself.

After using it for few days now I can say that they have actually made some significant improvements in the latest version. Being in the beta version its obvious that browser is not much stable as of now but it is faster as never before. Lots of improvements can be seen in the GUI. The look of IE 9 is more clean and clear and goes well with the Windows 7 look.

The browser scored 95/100 in acid test which is more than my FF 3.6 score (94/100). Though it couldn’t beat the Google Chrome (100/100) in the test.

IE 9 is available for Vista and Windows 7 only. It is not available for Windows XP users :( .
