Karbonn Titanium S5

Karbonn has recently launched two mid-range quad-core phones, Karbonn Titanium S1 and Karbonn Titanium S5. S1 comes with a 4.5″ IPS screen, 1 GB RAM, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, Dual sim support, 4 GB internal memory, decent 5 mp camera and 1600 mAh battey. S1 will be a better alternative to Micromax A110 (see the comparison) where S5 will be directly competing with the likes of Canvas HD and XOLO Q800. On paper the only difference between Canvas HD and S5 is the screen resolution. Karbonn S5  has got the resolution of 540 x 960 pixels (~220 ppi) whereas Canvas HD has 720 x 1280 pixels(~294 ppi) screen resolution. But the difference in market price being around 3000 INR one can easily ignore this.

Another difference is its processor. Micromax HD runs on a 1.2 GHz quad-core mediatek processor which is said to be the fastest amongst low cost quad core processors, S5 titanium has the trust of popular Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. You can expect S5 to run all the apps and games available on store without any issue. So in terms of performance one will not notice much difference between these two. According to the hands-on reviews on net, S5 outperforms all other mid-range phones in terms of multimedia and high-end gaming.

intel inside - XOLO X1000

The definition of a super phone keeps on changing everyday , every other day we see a new phone with amusing specs and features. There is already a competition going on among LG Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy S4,  HTC One, Sony Experia Z and many more to be the fastest Android phone in the market. But recently an Indian company launched a new Android device which is said to be the fastest of them all. The Lava XOLO X1000.

XOLO X1000 specs

Lava XOLO X1000 comes with a powerful 2GHz Intel atom processor. It is a single core processor with hyper-threading support, which virtually makes it a dual core processor. Intel is well-known for its desktop and laptop processors but they are yet to make a mark in mobile arena.

Apart from the processor, XOLO x1000 boasts of a 4.7″ TFT touch screen with 720 x 1280 resolution (312 ppi), 400MHz graphics processor, an 8 mega pixel primary camera with 1.3 mega pixel secondary. It comes with 8GB of internal storage capacity and expandable memory up to 32GB.

intel inside - XOLO X1000In the era where every other phone is coming with minimum 2000mAh battery a 1900mAh battery is relatively less for a powerful phone with 2GHz processor and 400MHz graphic engine. But if you go by the words in the market, its battery can last for 13-14 days on standby or 5-6 hours of 3G browsing or 9-10 hours of 2G talk-time. Which is quite impressive for an Android phone.

XOLO X900 had failed to grab the market due to some technical glitches and poor battery performance, we hope that they have got it right this time with X1000.

If you are willing to buy a new phone with that famous “intel inside” logo, you can get one from here. Currently it is available at 19999 INR ($370). It would be available in retail market from next week.
